I'm coming up to the EWR tomorrow so maybe you could introduce yourself and put your opinion across to me in person, it would be nice to put a face to the name, however do you introduce yourself as Douglas, scunny 1 or @arialdoh? Because all your posts seem remarkably the same Not said a dicky bird on this one so appology accepted DH

Scunny 1 if you and Douglas are not one and the same person then I apologise to you for mentioning your name but its not like it hasn't been done before, remember the Simon lambart thing?
What I will say to Douglas however is that if you are going to write things where you are critical of a person, read hulvik's post. Even though I do not agree with the last part, it is well written and thought out and because of that I cannot argue with the posters personal opinion.
What I will say is that my motivation did dip this year, I was and am fed up of being in pain, but we are working on getting this fixed and I do feel next year at Scunthorpe I will be scoring a max, whether it will be fingers up or a polite wave, well that remains to be seen. David

should he continue to race he’s in danger of becoming a joke and it’s for this reason I want him to retire so I can remember him as the good ride he was not the rider he’s in danger of becoming Bollocks.

Read Davids 2 page spread over the weekend and did make me down knowing that he isnt gonna race speedway again this year!! He's scunny through and through though i really dont know how you could say what you've said 'Dougie' yes he hasnt had the best of years but the amount of good racing and points hes scored for us it's like we owe him something back not give him abuse! Just a shame you are such a coward to hide behind a computer behind a daft name!

Though out sporting history there are plenty of examples were a sportsman as suffered a bad injury and struggled to reclaim the glory days but buoyed on by the thought there could be one last good season in them and the calls of those fans wearing rose tined glasses they carry on. Only to find that one or two seasons later those dreams haven’t been realised and the same fans who were shouting from the roof tops “Carry on” have turned and are baying for blood. David as been a great servant to Scunthorpe that isn’t in doubt But David himself as admitted on this very thread he as been in pain and still is and this as effected his racing. Anybody who was at the EWR yesterday would have seen a few heavy crashes thankfully all the riders got up and raced on. Had David been involved in any of those crashes and received a blow to the shoulder would he have been able to continue to race in the meeting I doubt it. Yes I would love to see David fully fit again and racing for a few more seasons. But in reality I don’t think it will happen. All it would take is one hard fall at the beginning of next years racing and David will struggle again and we are back to square one and were will those fans shouting for David to continue on the forum be then?

Yeah you're right. Perhaps he should just give up and get a job a Tescos or something. Infact any rider who gets an injury should be banned from ever racing again.

Hi "rbirkitt98", so you think that Douglas is an odd name. The Douglas Motorcycle Co. was a British company making motorcycles from 1907 up to 1956. In the late twenty's the made a racing dirt track ( speedway ) machine. AS this is a Speedway based forum hence the tag I use.
