I have just been looking at the riders points averages in this weeks Speedway Star, one rider who rides in all three leagues has a 5.31 in the elite,8.44 in the premier and11.11 in the national league. I know it is too late to change for this year but would it make sense to only allow a rider to ride tn two leagues ie premier and elite or national and premier. I personally think that a rider with an elite points average of 5.31 is far too good a rider to ride at national league level

Roynon riding in the NL is an utter joke, shouldnt be any where near that league
True Richie is the same but to be fair who could have predicted his fast rise up the ranks this year

I like the idea of putting a limit to the number of meetings a rider can do in the other leagues. This can give a rider a chance to try his luck in a higher league and then if successful they have a choice to make, stay put or move on.

Can somebody please tell me when the rules on this were changed and why? If my memory is correct riders were always allowed to ride in more than one league. The idea was this brought them on as a rider. However once their average had reached a certain point in the higher league the were no longer eligible in the lower league as it was determined they were now good enough. Surely this rule could be brought back say with a 4.5 average in the premier league being the cut off point
