Hi Rob,bet you thought i was going to have a go at you, just wondering as your the one with all the fact and figures has it ever happened as against Workington last night that the nominated heat was contested by the same 4 riders who rode in heat 14 which included 2 reserves.
Thanks for the compliment, but that's such a good question that I don't know the answer. ;D
But it's got to be pretty rare. I doubt if it's happened this season, because this year very few teams have a heat-leader at No 4. So for Heat 15 to have a repeat line-up of Heat 14, it needs to be a race without a heat leader. On Sunday, it occured because Josh was starting to feel the effects of his wrist injury, Rene Bach had been in the wars, Richard Lawson was off-form and Nick Morris wasn't there.
Prior to this season, it may have happened, because a lot of teams had a heat-leader at No 4 to be able to use/counter tactical riders in Heat 14.
So I can't answer it for sure.
One thing I can say, and this didn't come from me but rather club statistician John Eyre (who provides the comprehensive statistics at the end of the meeting previews), is that MPT became the first rider to score a seven-ride 21-point maximum for the Scorpions on Sunday.
The only other rider to score 21 points for the club also came this year. But that was at National League level, courtesy of guest Stefan Nielsen at King's Lynn for the Saints. Stefan's max included a tactical ride, so was actually from six rides.
